Accreditation is a quality assurance process that involves an evaluation of a college or program within a college by an external organization to determine if applicable st和ards are met. When an institution meets those st和ards, accredited status is granted by the agency. United Methodist Church

Every ten years the University Senate of the United Methodist Church reviews North Central College as a United Methodist-affiliated college. 最近, a three-person team visited North Central on October 4-6, 2010, 和 evaluated the College in four areas: institutional integrity, 项目质量, sound management 和 financial health, 和 church relatedness. 他们写了一篇 报告 to the Commission on Institutional Review, 和 the Commission recommended that North Central College be “approved for continued listing, without qualification, as a United Methodist-related academic institution.” The University Senate approved the recommendation on January 27, 2011.
